A folktale says "Mitki" the only sister of seven brothers fell in love with a musician "Jhitku" but unfortunately Jhitku was killed by Mitki's brothers as they saw a dream that the Goddess is demanding sacrifice. Mitki couldn't bear the separation and took her life. Since then the tribals believe that their desires are fulfilled by worshipping Jhitku Mitki tribal couple.
